Aligarh Musim University

The Aligarh Muslim University has been established as per the University Act Section 5 (9A). This university includes the Centre for Distant and Online Education (CDOE). the study programs of the CDOE are customised to fulfil the learning needs of knowledge seekers and enable them to learn at a speed that they are comfortable and convenient. These programs can be completed by using innovative and flexible modes of education due to which ‘independent learning’ is possible for all people irrespective of the time and place.

Many students have a strong desire for formal education but face hurdles such as social standing, finances or employment. If such students opt for distance learning, they can gain the benefits of education. The university has the aim of making the academic offerings affordable to the underprivileged sections of society. With this mindset, it maintains a very low fee for distance courses. Due to such efforts of the university, the marginalised section of the society can break free from the binding of backwardness, ignorance and poverty, which are the issues that have been restricting their progress.
