About University – The Centre for Distance Education at Anna University was established in response to the rising worldwide trend of expanding the traditional instructional mode of universities to include online, self-learning, and other forms of distance education approach.
Through this initiative, Anna University aims to provide professional education that would provide a competitive edge in the global business environment, to advance the qualifications of those in need by providing both hard and soft skills in order to become better performers, and to meet multiple real-world challenges faced by corporations through the provision of tailor-made professional courses.
Since the year 2007, the University has been providing professional MBA, MCA, and M.Sc. (Computer Science Programmes via Distance mode as part of its effort to convert knowledge and to build up technical and managerial competences in professionals. These programs are part of the University’s Computer Science Department.
Objectives of the Centre
- To offer comprehensive state-of-the-art curriculum leading to professional MBA, MCA and M.Sc. Degrees and other Professional Degrees.
- To provide competitive edge in the global business environment by updation of professional skills through Distance Mode.
- To design, develop and disseminate emerging technological know-how to the nook and corner of the country in particular and the world in general.
- To provide the change management in Distance mode through inquiry based curriculum updation and with use of innovative E-Learning teaching aids.
- To extend the benefits of state-of-the-art technical education to the so far unreached rural masses.
