University of Calicut

In 1981-82, the ‘School of Distance Education (SDE)’ in the ‘University of Calicut’ began enrolling students. It was earlier known as the ‘Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education.’ Currently, SDE has evolved as one of the prime departments in the university. It is also looked up to as an important ‘distance education’ provider as it is enroling a very large number of students from distant corners of India. SDE tries hard to spread education to those people who have been deprived from education till date.
