Chaudhary Devi Lal University

In 2000, Kurukshetra University Chaudhary Devi Lal Post Graduate Regional Centre Sirsa came into existence. In April 2003, it gained recognition as a full-fledged university and was renamed as Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa. University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised this university and announced that it has eligibility for Central Assistance.

CDLU commenced the University Centre for Distance Learning (UCDL) with the vision of offering education to people who cannot afford on-campus education or who reside in remote and far-flung regions. This centre runs job-oriented programs through the distance mode. Some courses that are through the distance mode are the following: under-graduate courses (such as B. Com., B. A., B. A. (Mass Communication) and BCA), post-graduate courses (such as M. Sc. (Computer Science), M. A. (Education), M. A. (English), M. A. (Mass Communication), MCA and MBA) and PG Diplomas (Mass Communication (PGDMC), Computer Science & Technology (DCST), Business Management (PGDBM) and Computer Application(PGDCA)).

The Distance Education Council (DEC) has provided provisional recognition to the above courses implemented by UCDL.

Chaudhary Devi Lal University has several scholarship schemes, such as Haryana Government scheme, UGC scheme and Centralised scholarship.
