Kuvempu University, Karnataka

In 1987, Kuvempu University came into existence as a State University that had the recognition of UGC. The origin of the name is Shri Kuvempu, the great Kannada writer. Presently, the university has its distinct academic profile and own cultural identity.

Kuvempu University has a jurisdiction spread over the Chikkamagaluru district and the Shivamogga district. It conducts courses at three levels (under-graduate, post-graduate and Ph. D.) in several disciplines. Overall, there are 35 post-graduate departments in faculties, such as Technology, Science, Education, Commerce and Arts. The headquarters of the university are at the Jnana Sahyadri campus. The picturesque and lush-green campus is over an area of 230 acres, which forms a proper environment for higher education. The construction of main buildings is on small hillocks, which makes the combination of the buildings with the landscape a natural formation. The entire campus is absolutely pollution-free.

Kuvempu University aims to promote the relationship between the university and the society for which it has the motto: Education for All. In tune with this aim, the university founded the Directorate of Distance Education, which is currently executing under-graduate, post-graduate and PG Diploma programs. Through all of these, the university intends to bring high-quality education to the doors of those aspiring for higher education.

Kuvempu University conducts an entrance examination for the online MBA course. It considers a 50:50 weightage for the qualifying examination and the entrance examination.

After an applicant submits the application form, the university mails the details of the entrance examination, which is held in specific towns or cities.

Kuvempu University has set up a holistic placement cell for monitoring the placement services to students. Several post-graduate departments are actively scheduling campus interviews and there by facilitating students to get jobs.
