Mizoram University

The Mizoram University is a Government University. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised this university. In 2000, the Indian Parliament passed the Mizoram University Act. On 2^nd July 2001,  the setup of this university took place. In 2007, the Mizoram University Amendment Bill was passed as per which the official visitor of this university is the President of India and its Chief Rector is the Governor of Mizoram.

The goals of this university are the following: “disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit, to make provisions for integrated courses in humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, forestry, and other allied disciplines in the educational programs of the University; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-disciplinary studies.” To complete these goals, the university has started various academic and administrative growth programs.
