Online University Of Mysore

On 27^th July 1916, the first university in the state of Karnataka was established, which is the University of Mysore. It is the sixth oldest in India. The following two people were instrumental in founding this university:

• His Highness Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the Maharaja of the erstwhile princely state of Mysore
• Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya

In 2000, NAAC accredited the Mysore University with ‘Five Star’ status. In the India rankings 2021, NIRF-MHRD, Government of India, the ranking of this university was 19.

Mysuru, which is the cultural centre of the Karnataka state, is the city wherein the University of Mysore is located. It was the capital location of the Wadiyar dynasty. This city is reputed for having gardens, temples and palaces and also for its sandalwood, artifacts of ivory, sandalwood oil and silk. For all 12 months, this city has healthy climate. Bengaluru is the state capital of Karnataka. From this city, it is essential to travel towards the south-west for 140 kilometres to reach Mysuru. This place has good connectivity by road, rail and air.
