The Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune is under the umbrella of the Symbiosis International University (SIU), which is a deemed university. In 1978, SIBM was established. Since its inception, it has a consistent ranking among the Top 10 B schools of India. So, it is considered as a premier B school in the country. It has earned recognition as a superior provider of academics and a valuable contributor to students and industries and the society at large. SIBM has the memberships of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the EFMD Global network.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Government of India has ranked SIU as one of the Top 50 Indian universities. SIU also finds a place in the Top 250 Asian universities. The QS World University rankings Survey 2018 ranked SIU in the Top 150 in BRICS. In 2018, NIRF allocated Rank no. 18 to SIBM among all the B schools in the country.
