Apply the knowledge of Behavioral Sciences with Community Organization and Community Development in bringing about desirable changes in the health behavior of the community and to make Health Promotion Education Programmes in the Community
Apply simple statistical methods and demographic techniques in their present Job situation for programme planning and for conducting health surveys and research studies related to health.
Perform the role of Health Education Specialist in the community, conducting Health Promotion Education Programmes effectively by proper application of concepts, principles, objectives and approaches of Health Promotion Education.
Explain Health Policy, Health Care Delivery System, Development skills in Public Health Administration for effective implementation of IEC component of National Health Programmes, along with Health Promotion Education activities.
Become an effective communicator, for advocacy in Health Promotion Education in the Community.
Plan, implement and evaluate Health Promotion Education Programmes in community by positive and constructive attitudes on the identified health problems.

Eligibility
1. (a) Graduate in Psychology / Economics / Anthropology / Statistics / Sociology / Education / Communication / Social work/Dietetics with three years of experience in community work in the field of Health/ Education/ Welfare etc. (b) A Graduate in Nursing or any other paramedical fields. The graduation degree should be from a UGC recognised University2. Age not more than 40 years with only five years of relaxation for the reserved candidates SC/ST 3 yrs relaxation for OBC Candidates.3. In service candidates in Central./State government Health and Family Welfare Department & directly involved in the delivery of health care services will be preferred. Persons working in National level recognised NGOs working in health field will be accepted.4. Reservation for SC/ST and Disabled will be provided as per the Government of India rules. A certificate from the Recognised District Authority must be attached at the time of submission of application form.5. Individuals with any of the above qualifications from Government and Non-Government Organisations working in the Rural areas/under performing districts, in the community health will be preferred.6. Preference for the admission will be given for candidates sponsored from Directorate of Health Services of the State. All application to be forwarded through proper channel.7. The medium of instructions for this course is in English.8. Selection Committee decision will be final.9. D.H.P.E. Course is a full time Residential Training course of one academic year (from June to May).10. No students will be permitted to seek employment, or to participate in any course of study either full time or part time during the period he/she is enrolled at the Institute.
