About Course

Public Administrations commences with organized life. It is the source for all such branches of knowledge that deal with organization, management and administration. The subject matter of Public Administration is essentially linked with the business of the Government. In other words, Public Administration is an advanced professional course. The Course is designed to be useful for those who are in public or private employment interested in gaining critical insights into structure and behavioral dimensions of the organizations.


The course consists of a study of five papers each in both previous and final years. The following are the titles of the papers.
The following is the Scheme of Examination. Each paper carries 100 marks (including 20 marks for assignments) and is of 3 hours duration.
Paper : I Administrative Theory
Paper : II Public Personal Administration
Paper : III Indian Administrations
Paper : IV Financial Administration
Paper : V Elective : (Any one of the following) :
A) Rural Local Government
B) Urban Local Government
C) E-Governance in India.
Paper : I Behavioural Sciences Methodology
Paper : II Readings in Public Policy
Paper : III Local Administration in Asia and West
Paper : IV Development Administration
Paper : V Elective : (Any one of the following) :
A) Social Welfare Administration
B) Management of Public Enterprises


A Candidate seeking admission into the I year M.A. Degree Course in Political Science shall be required to have passed any Degree of this university or any other university recognised as equivalent thereto, under the pattern of 10+2+3.
